*Care and Eating of Your Macaron
French Macarons are delightful meringue-based cookies typically considered gluten-free as they are made with almond flour. They are delicate little divas but are well worth the time, effort, and cost. While they can be consumed straight from the fridge, or even the freezer, they are best served after bringing them to room temperature. Anything longer and the cream center can become too soft and ooze out the sides. However, no one way is wrong!
If you aren’t enjoying your macarons straight away, they can be stored (in an airtight container) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Any longer than that, consider moving them to the freezer where they will await your return for up to several months. To thaw, return the container to the fridge the day before and then allow that magical room temperature time of about a half-hour before consuming. This should prevent condensation.
Oh, and take care when handling them as they are very delicate and can easily crack.
